A contemporary heritage-inspired hospitality destination in Srinagar, thoughtfully designed to blend modern luxury with traditional Kashmiri craftsmanship
The brief
Hotel Comrade Inn, located in Rajbagh, Srinagar, was envisioned as a contemporary hospitality space rooted in Kashmir’s rich architectural heritage. Spanning 20,000 sq ft, the project follows a “Modern Luxury” design philosophy that balances minimalist functionality with intricate traditional craftsmanship.
A defining element of the project is the integration of traditional Khatambandh ceiling work — a distinctive form of polygonal wood joinery native to Kashmir — thoughtfully incorporated throughout the hotel interiors. The design brings together contemporary comfort and cultural identity, creating a refined 40-room hospitality environment that reflects both elegance and local character.
Scope of Work
Complete design concept, mood boards, floor plans, and joinery drawings. Furniture and fixture sourcing. Renovation completed by Son & Son in collaboration with our trusted trades and partners.
